A beautiful small enamel dish with an abstract variegated pattern of green, red and gold. We aren’t sure of the maker on this one, but believe it may actually be an unknown enamelist. It looks similar to, but less refined than, some of the enamel work by Win Ng. It also has some of the same characteristics of Annemarie Davidson or Bovano.
Backside is glazed black or dark blue and is marked with “Le 68″ – possibly the maker’s name along with the year. We’d be interested to hear if anyone has information on who may have made this piece. We found it alongside an actual museum quality Win Ng enamel piece, so we were wondering if “Le” may have been a contemporary or student of Ng’s.
Enamel dish measures about 4 1/8 inches in diameter. In good condition but with crazing on the inside of the enamel and a bit of roughness around the edge.
