Striking Annemarie Davidson blue and gold enamel bowl. Davidson produced enamel plates and giftware in Sierra Madre, CA from the 1950s up until recently(?). She also appeared in the celebrated exhibition Painting with Fire: Masters of Enameling in America, 1930-1980.
This pattern with gold and blue lines radiating from the “jewels” in the center of the bowl is probably one of the most highly sought after by mid century modern collectors.
Measures 7 3/4″ across in diameter and is in near perfect condition. Please excuse the photo of the gold/black reverse side of the plate – reflections make it look like it has damage but it’s actually in great shape. Marked on back with a gold sticker reading “Annemarie Davidson handcrafted enamels Sierra Madre, California”, along with her conjoined “AD” mark under the enamel.
