Umanoff Taverneau Plate
Tagged with: arthur umanoffraymortaverneauwood

Beautifully styled small Taverneau plate or tray. Taverneau is actually not a brand name but a rare type of wood from Haiti. We are fairly certain that this plate was from the Arthur Umanoff for Raymor line, since we do have another similar Taverneau wood item that does have a sticker with the Umanoff name. Actually, we have seen this exact dish attributed to the Umanoff line here, so we’re going to go with that for now.

Tray is unmarked on the bottom, though there is evidence of a previous sticker. We believe these items were made in the 1960s-70s. Would be a wonderful display piece for both a midcentury modern or Hawaiiana/Tiki themed room.

In good vintage condition, but with quite a few scuffs, scratches and evidence of wear. Wooden wrapped handle also has a bit of cracking and wear, but we feel it adds to the look of the piece.

Tray measures about 7 inches by 6 inches.
