Bennington Tray
Tagged with: benningtonceramicstray

Wonderful Bennington Potters rectangular serving tray in a black “agate” style glaze. This line is referred to as “Classic Bennington” and the tray is shape #1648. We’re uncertain whether or not this tray was originally designed by famed Japanese ceramicist Yusuke Aida (between 1961 and 1964) or not. We’ve heard that some of Aida’s 1600 shapes were repurposed by Bennington in later years. In any case this glaze seems to be discontinued “Black on Slate” color, according to Bennington’s website.

In great condition with no major damage. A few minor glaze pops here and there. Marked on the back with the Bennington stamp, and someone has also written “3y” in marker.

Tray measures about 13 3/4″ long and 9″ wide.
