Cute little Bernard Studios rabbit cotton ball holder, probably made in the 1940s. The company was one of the many California potteries producing figurines like this one. This rabbit is listed in Chipman’s Encyclopedia of Calif Pottery on page 185, at a list price of $45.
Glaze on rabbit is pinkish-purple – a common color scheme used at the time. The facial features seem to be painted on afterwards – we’ve seen decorated ones like this and also without any facial features painted on.
In great vintage condition with no major damage. Has some wear to the painted on features, as seen in the photos.
Measures about 3.75″ tall.
