Amazing midcentury enamel ashtray by the Bovano company of Cheshire, Connecticut. The company has been around since the 1950s and is still in existence today. We’ve seen similar ashtrays to this one on the Mad Men show, particularly in some of the shots of the low table in Draper’s office and also in the conference rooms.

Wonderful orange, yellow red, and purple “rays” radiate from the center, where several “jewel” dots reside. There are three cutout holes in the metal on one side. This ashtray reminds us a lot of some of the Annemarie Davidson pieces we’ve come across. Enamel on metal ashtray bowl measures about 6 3/4 inches in diameter and is in excellent vintage condition with no signs of damage.
