Four (4) great roadrunner trays or coasters by Couroc of Monterey. Trays are rectangular with slightly upturned edges. Each piece is made of phenolic resin, and the roadrunner on the trays is inlaid with metal and wood. These individual smaller trays seem a little more difficult to find than the larger ones – they’d be great for drinks or to put small goodies on. They were produced from the 1950s up until the 1990s.
In great vintage condition with no chips or cracks. There is some slight wear and scuffs, but most of the original sheen is still there on the phenolic. One tray has a few more noticeable scratches (shown in photos) and another has a small area of slightly different color due to an old price tag – but neither are that noticeable from a distance.
The trays have the familiar Couroc gold label sticker on back reading: “Unique Couroc Products – Are cherished gifts because of their great variety and beauty in design. Hand inlaid by master craftsman, shells, coins, woods and metals are fused into Couroc’s famous satin black material. which is impervious to alcohol, boiling water, and cigarette burns.”
Each tray measures around 7″ by 6″. Glass cup shown on tray is not included with this package.
