This is a vintage Covina Pottery squarish planter in a lemony yellow glaze with maroon drip overtones. Covina Pottery produced many gardenware items from the 1940s up until the 1980s, but this is an earlier item, as evidenced by the script backstamp on the bottom and lower number. Metlox made some similar planters to this one.

Measures about 6 inches across and 4.5 inches tall No major cracks or chips, but there is quite a bit of crazing on the inside of the planter, and on the bottom. Marked on the bottom “78 Covina Calif”.
