Two (2) lovely Dansk International Designs white china candleholders in flowing modern bird shapes. We aren’t certain about these pieces, but they appear to be designed by Gunnar Cyren as they have the “GC” mark on bottom. We have seen a similar larger gravy boat, as well as a tall vase. However, those were plain white in color and didn’t have the blue pattern. The pattern on these is known as “Bayberry”, but we haven’t yet been able to find any other ones with the pattern.
In good condition with some candle residue still left inside each bird. We actually aren’t 100% sure they were meant to be used for candles – they could’ve been small dishes or ramekins. No major cracks or chips, but 1 bird has a slight nick and scratch on the side of the head (attempted to show this in 3rd photo).
Birds measures about 3″ high, 3 1/4″ long and 2 1/2″ wide. Would look great on a midcentury modern table – or perhaps you collect the “Bayberry” pattern and want to add these to your collection.
