Five (5) wonderful Dorothy Thorpe silver band tumbler or old-fashioned glasses. You probably know just how popular these type of Thorpe items have become because of the Mad Men show! These are the cylinder glasses as opposed to the round glasses seen in the show – however, they do have the thick silver band (not the thin one, or the non-silver band known as “Allegro”).
In good vintage condition with no cracks or major damage. However, the glasses have quite a bit of wear and tarnish to the silver. Because the Thorpe silver band glass items have silver on BOTH sides of the glass, it may still be acceptable that some of the silver has come off. However, please keep this wear in mind as this is reflected in the price. We’ve cleaned the glasses lightly with silver polish, but some of the black tarnish still remains and we aren’t sure if it will come off.
Glasses measure about 3 1/8″ tall and 2 7/8″ in diameter. They are extremely heavy (about 10 ounces each), so the shipping is a little higher on these. If you’re in California or a neighboring state, please let us know because the postage may be much less.
