Wonderful sterling silver cup with glass insert liner made by Fisher. We have seen online that this was a gift cup for an infant, sometimes engraved with the baby’s initials or information. Ours is unmarked, however, except for the stamp on the bottom reading “Fisher Sterling D3″. We estimate the era of manufacture to be in the 1960s.
Because the glass liner is attached to the silver cup, we aren’t able to give an accurate sterling weight on this item. However, the cup weighs 4 ounces in total, and we can’t imagine that there’s less than an ounce of silver in the cup. With the high prices of silver bullion, we imagine this cup would make an attractive addition to your collection.
Overall, the cup is in good vintage condition with some slight dings, nicks and evidence of wear. Rim seems to have a few slight dents, though it isn’t that severe. There is some corrosion on the top inner edge, where the glass liner and silver meet, where moisture has gotten between the two materials.
Cup measures about 2 1/4″ tall and about 2″ wide at mouth.
