This two tone piece of art ware was made by the Gladding McBean company. Interior glaze is a dark burgundy or amethyst purple in color. Outer glaze is a satin matte light steel blue in color. Would make a wonderful table bowl.
We believe this is the #412 shape. Marked on the bottom with a circular Franciscan Ware stamp.
In good vintage condition with a small amount of wear, water marks and scratches to the interior. Outside glaze has a similar amount of wear, with 1 light scratch to the side – also, there are 1 or 2 tiny pops to the glaze on the rim, one of these may be a fleabite but it’s difficult to tell.
Planter measures about 8 5/8″ long, 4 3/4″ wide and 3 1/4″ high.
