Georges Briard Casserole - $20.00
Tagged with: fire kinggeorges briardglass

An unusual Georges Briard branded Fire King glass casserole. While the Georges Briard (aka Jascha Brojdo) name has been associated with many different companies, we aren’t clear on the exact details of the relationship with Anchor Hocking nor when it may have been made. We think it’s likely from the 1960s though.

The casserole base features a gold spattered clear glass casserole – it looks to be a standard 2 quart Fire King issue. The cover seems to be brass metal enclosing a wonderful black and gold leaf mid century pattern circular tile. We think this may have originally come with some sort of stand or holder.

Casserole measures about 10 inches from handle to handle and about 3 inches deep. In great used condition, with a bit of wear to the tile and tarnish to the cover. The glass casserole also has some usage scratches on the bottom, but no major damage to either cover or casserole. Marked on the bottom with “Fire King Made in USA 2 Qt” and on the cover with “Georges Briard” in script.
