Beautiful apple green glazed Gladding McBean circular tray. GMcB was one of the largest California pottery companies in its day, and the force behind the popular Franciscan pottery name. We don’t have the Gladding McBean collector’s book, but believe this is in the El Patio line and was called a “Buffet Supper Tray”. According to what we’ve seen, this supper tray is a harder to find item – we’ve seen it listed for nearly 100 dollars. Perhaps there’s a Gladding collector out who needs this piece.
This tray is in amazing condition for its age – El Patio was introduced in the 1930s but was produced for quite a few years. No cracks or chips or crazing that we can see. Very few scratches, maybe one or two glaze pops. Tray measures about 11 7/8″ inches in diameter. Marked on the bottom with an underglaze inkstamp “GMcB”.
