Hanova Small Candleholder
Tagged with: candleholderenamelhanovametal

Wonderful Hanova of Pasadena tiny footed candle holder or pin dish. Mustard yellow bubbled enamel on steel, likely made in the 1970s. Hanova is known for their striking enameled dishes, bowls, planters and candle holders. We have seen this style of Hanova piece labeled Brutalist“, referring to Brutalist Architecture, but we don’t think this an accurate classification.

We are fairly certain about this piece being from Hanova, but it doesn’t have its original sticker on the bottom. Hanova pieces are rarely marked directly on the enamel – they mostly had stickers which were peeled off afterwards. That, and the fact that there’s not a lot of available information about the company, leads to a lot of confusion on identification.

Wonderful random pattern of ybubbles on the surface of this. Pattern also appears on the bottom of the item. There is a tiny chip on one edge, though it is very difficult to see with Hanova items because of the nature of the enamel. Measures approximately 4.5 inches across and only 3/4 inches tall.
