This is the classic low-handle mug design from Heath Ceramics. We believe this to be a vintage mug, one of three designed in the Coupe line (designed in the 1940s) with a white speckled spray interior and matte brown exterior. The glazing is a little like the popular Sand and Sea color combination, but we think it’s a different type. This same style of mug is sold today at Heath as a “Studio Mug” – a single piece like this is over $25 if you get it new.
Heath Ceramics is a well known California company originally started by Edith Heath that has produced ceramics for over 60 years. More information on the Potteries of California website.
Mug measures 3 1/4″ in diameter and 3 1/4″ tall. In great condition, with no damage that we can see. There is what looks like a tiny fleabite on the bottom glaze but it’s hardly worth mentioning. Marked on the bottom with the famous Heath logo.
