An unusual, small handled bowl with partial dark blue moonstone style glaze from Heath Ceramics. We’ve been trying to figure out if this bowl was an experimental glaze test or perhaps an individual project. The shape is also different than most Heath items we’ve seen – the closest seems to be the handled chowder bowl. We feel an advanced Heath Ceramics collector might be interested in this piece.
This bowl is from the well known California company originally started by Edith Heath that has produced ceramics for over 60 years. More information on the Potteries of California website.
Marked on the bottom with the famous Heath logo. In very good condition with no major damage, but a few scratches to the interior. Glaze is splashed haphazardly on the side – the interior is mostly glazed, but it’s thin in some places.
Bowl measures about 4 1/2″ in diameter, 6 1/4″ if including the handle. Measures about 2 3/8″ tall.
