Fantastic midcentury modern vase by the famed designer Marc Bellaire, featuring stylized Hawaiian or Polynesian figures. Vase is cone shaped, with a wonderful rough salmon colored glaze with raised white portions. Figures are partially incised and glazed blue and brown. We’re uncertain what this particular pattern is called.
Unfortunately, this vase has a very large crack that extends nearly half the length of the vase. We just couldn’t leave it behind, however, and feel that it would still make a great display piece in a modern tiki setting. Please see the photo which shows the crack which extends from top of vase down to about midway. Vase seems very solid still, but we want to make sure that the buyer realizes the lower price is due to this damage. Otherwise, the vase is in great shape – we think it could be displayed fine with the crack facing inwards.
Marked on bottom with “Bellaire”. Vase measures about 8 3/4″ tall, 2 3/4″ wide at mouth and 4 3/4″ wide at bottom.
