Three (3) unusual glass souffle or individual casseroles designed by Massimo and Lella Vignelli and produced by Heller beginning in 1975. We have not come across these before, and they are not included in the glassware book that showed most of the Vignelli glass items. We believe they may be souffle bowls or individual ramekin casseroles. The shape is similar to the larger round baking dish.
We believe that this particular example is from the original series produced by Heller – per Design Addict, this design line was actually reproduced later by Glasbake (Jeanette) under the name “Chef’s Choice”. Many of the M&L Vignelli glass casseroles we’ve seen are from that later Jeanette run.
In excellent vintage condition with no major condition issues. There are some glass bubbles and manufacturing inclusions here and there (see third photo), but overall in great shape. Marked on bottom with circular impression reading “Heller Oven/Microwaveable Bakeware Design By L&M Vignelli Made In USA.”
Each measures about 6 3/8″ wide and 2″ tall. Please note – these are very heavy and the bowls when boxed will weight over 4 lbs, so shipping is a little higher.
