Bitossi Seta Blue Gold Compote

Fantastic Bitossi Italy "Seta" (Silk) footed vase or compote designed by Aldo Londi around 1957-65. This piece has a multitude of hand carved vertical lines and divots on the surface along with blue and gold leaf designs. Top rim of piece is also gilded in gold. Interior is glazed plain blue. Very popular line with aficionados of Italian and mid century pottery. We've had this line in various glaze colorways and different shapes - usually vases, candle holders, compotes, covered jars and planters. Marked on the bottom with what looks like "Italy 25/24F".

In good vintage condition, with no cracks or chips. Some glaze splatters, misses, general overall roughness. Extremely common with the Seta line - remember, these are hand finished pieces. Some hard water stain to interior from use.

Measures about 6" wide at top, 7" tall.
