A wonderful studio pottery stoneware mug by Cliff Stewart. Very heavy white and brown mottled drip glaze, lovely example of California studio pottery, likely from the 1970s. We have a few other pieces by him, but those are all vases. Marked on inside of foot bottom with incised "Cliff Stewart".
Good vintage condition, with no cracks or chips. There is a small round hole near the foot, put there by the potter - believe the purpose of it was actually to drain water out of the bottom foot after it was washed and turned upside down to dry. Hard to see in the photos taken - in the 4th photo you can see where the glaze has dripped into the hole.
Measures about 3 1/8 inches tall, 3 1/2 inches diameter, 4 3/4 incheswide including handle.
