Eva Zeisel Castleton Coffee Pot

A rare, beautiful vintage Eva Zeisel coffee pot with lid designed for Castleton China in the 1940s, and manufactured by Shenango Pottery. This is an iconic piece from an amazing designer, in the plain "Museum White" glaze on an elegant, biomorphic porcelain form. Have only seen this piece a few times. Unmarked on the bottom, as were many of the Castleton pieces.

In good vintage condition with no cracks or damage, with the exception of a light flake to one edge of the handle. We've examined it and it may have been slightly polished out, though it is hard to tell - please see the last photo (near the logo in both cases). It still displays well, and when the pot is turned so it faces the wall, the flake is not visible at all. There are also a few very light scratches, some drips to glazing.

Measures about 10 inches tall, 7 inches wide handle to spout, 4 3/4 inches wide at body.
