Kato Kogei Fujimori Frame

Cool looking, postmodern Memphis Group style yellow and black ceramic picture frame from Kato Kogei Japan. This 1980s piece was designed by Fujimori (who was art director at Kato Kogei) as part of his Frames Collection. Fujimori was a well known designer who worked both in Japan and in Chicago. Have seen various color, graphic and shape treatments with these frames. Consists of a ceramic frame holder with a slot in back where a glass front is inserted. We've mostly seen dinnerware items, the frames don't seem to come up as frequently.

In good vintage condition, with a small chip off the bottom end point and one tiny fleabite on the opposite side edge. A few light scratches to ceramic. Inner glass has dust a few light scratches, paper backing shows wear. Still displays very nicely but price reduced for the wear.

Measures about 7 1/2" tall, 7 1/2" widest.
