Sturdy modern plastic mixing bowl from Hammarplast. The sunny yellow color on this hard plastic bowl reminds us of Rosti items, and the feel of the bowl is very similar. We've seen this bowl mentioned on various sites in regards to "bread-making" - apparently this is a favored receptacle for letting dough rise in.
We're uncertain about the age of the piece, but believe it to be from the 1970s to early 80s. One confusing thing is that the bowl is marked "New York", but we know that Hammarplast is actually a Swedish company that has been making plastic products since way back in 1947. The company still produces plastic housewares today, though we don't think their current Mixa line can rival the construction of this bowl.
We are uncertain if this bowl originally came with a cover. Bowl is in excellent shape with very little wear to the plastic. A few very minor scratches and scuffs.
Measures about 7 inches tall and 10 1/2 inches in diameter at widest. The capacity of the bowl is 5 quarts.
