Hiroshi Nakayama Bowl

A stunning, large studio pottery stoneware bowl made by master potter Hiroshi Nakayama. His works are in museums and galleries around the world. Spectacular brown, gray and black heavily mottled glaze that looks almost like marble. Form is an enormous bowl with indented sides - would make a really nice centerpiece on a larger table or displayed with other midcentury pieces. Signed on reverse with "Nakayama".

In good vintage condition, with no cracks or chips. Some manufacturing pockmarks, glaze bubbles and glaze drips. Some very light wear and scuffs on bottom of foot.

Measures about 15" widest, 3" tallest.
