Beautiful set of two small modernist carved wooden birds. They look to be made of some sort of burl wood, possibly walnut. Unknown age, but likely 1970s-80s. Smooth wood surfaces, great pattern in the wood of these Danish modern style birds. The smaller bird also has a carved out indentation on the side so that you can nestle it against the larger one. Would look great displayed in a cabinet along with other wood figurines. We thought at first this might be some sort of Miles Greer piece, likely not but would fit in well with his work. Unmarked on bottom.
In good vintage condition, with no cracks, chips or damage. A small amount of wear including a few light scuffs, scratches, nicks, but nothing distracting - bottom of birds have most of the wear. The smaller bird may have a small ding on the point of the tail.
Larger bird measures about 4 3/4" long, 2 3/4" tall. Smaller bird measures about 3 1/2" long, 2 1/4" tall.
