Fantastic Italian sommerso ribbed art glass architectural vase. Light steel blue heavy glass with forest green rounded out portion near the mouth of vase, cylinder form with two rings at bottom. Top hole portion seems a little shallow - we were wondering if it was a candleholder but it seems too deep, so we think it's a vase. Base is cut flat, top lip of vase is fire polished smooth. Unknown maker to us. This was found with a number of other high end Italian glass pieces from makers like Salviati and Cenedese. We've seen a few Cenedese pieces that have a similar look, but would be interested if anyone knows for sure. Unmarked on the bottom as far as we can tell.
In good vintage condition, with no cracks or chips. Some light wear, nicking and scratches to body, 2 tiny pinhead fleabites to rim, some scratches to base. Overall good condition for display or use.
Measures about 5 1/2 inches tall, 2 3/8 inches wide at top, 3 1/4 inches wide at base.
