A fantastic, triangular stoneware dish or bowl by acclaimed California potter Niels Frederiksen. Frederiksen studied with both Edith Heath and Marguerite Wildenhain. A wonderful glaze pattern of thick wavy black lines and thinner beige-gray lines, on a thin gray background glaze. Believe this studio pottery bowl is likely 1960s-70s production. Incised on bottom with Niels Frederiksen signature.
In good vintage condition, with no cracks or chips. There are some very large popped bubbles in the center that area part of the manufacturing process. Some glaze skips and other manufacturing flaws - on the rim there is what looks like a crack but it's actually a piece of lint that is under the glaze. Some scuffing on bottom of dish.
Measures about 10 1/4 inches widest, 1 1/2 inches tall.
