1970s Op Art Shag Rug

Add an instant retro feel to your den with this groovy 1970s sun shag rug. Believed to be acrylic yarn construction, glued on back with a burlap back edging. Bold, concentric ovals in yellow, orange and red on dark brown, some of the oval color sections are higher than the others. No tag, but likely made in U.S. or Japan in the 1970s.

In good vintage condition, with some general wear consistent with age. We did vaccum it lightly, but didn't want to take a chance washing it. Some loose yarn and snags here and there, and some dirt and light staining, maybe 1 or 2 small stains. Because of the manner of construction (the back is glued, without any backing material to hold it together besides the weaving and the edging), there are some thin areas missing some rug material - but you don't really see any of it from top when the rug is laid flat. There's a small area where we wove a bit of the yarn back in - see the right side of the last photo. Overall - this would be a nice looking op art rug to actually use in a den or living room to add some color. Unsure if it could be hung on the wall as well, but seems likely.

Measures about 5 feet by 3 feet. Will likely be shipped rolled up in plastic, unless we can find a box that size. We may use USPS or UPS for this item.
