A fantastic Italian glass bull paperweight by Luciano Gaspari for Salviati. Handblown heavy Sommerso style glass construction with what appears to be brilliant greenish vaseline glass coloration against clear glass. Uncertain if this is really uranium glass but have seen some listed for Salviati. Would be a show-stopper of a piece to be displayed in a midcentury modern or Italian glass setting. Most sites said this was designed by Gaspari for the Salviati company in Venice but we haven't confirmed that. Unmarked as far as we can tell - this with found with a snail paperweight with a Salviati sticker.
In good vintage condition, with no cracks or chips. Some inclusions in glass, some wear on bottom. A few light scratching areas, some dust and dirt in crevices.
Measures about 8" long, 6 1/4" tall, 4 1/4" wide. Extremely heavy, will be about 9-10 pounds boxed.
