A fabulous studio pottery stoneware vase by noted San Diego potter Wayne Chapman. The thick turquoise blue-green glaze is almost lava-like, and there are dimple impressions all along the sides of the vase - sort of reminds us of a Bitters pot. Rough stoneware construction. Undated, but likely 1960s-70s. Signed on bottom with the "WC" mark.
In good vintage condition, with no cracks or damage - the exception are some glaze chips to the rim underside - see last photo for example. There are 3 of them that we can see, on one side of the vase - so it could be turned so they don't show.
Measures about 7" tall, 4 1/2" widest, 2 3/8" wide at mouth.
