Wonderful midcentury modern style bottle vase or weedpot by Stoneware Designs West. This is a typical design from the company, with an abstract handpainted pattern on a bottle style vase with a flared top.

Would fit in great with an existing collection of midcentury pottery. We haven’t been able to find out too much about the company, but believe they were a company started in the 1960s by former employees of Robert Maxwell. More info on the Potteries of California website.

Unusual that it’s marked inmold on the bottom with “designs west #254″ – usually we only see paper stickers on these type of items. This one probably originally had a sticker as well.

Vase measures about 5″H x 2″W (top) x 4″W (base).
