Upsala Ekeby Cups

Four (4) fabulous floral design Upsala Ekeby Karlskrona teacups in the Ignis Bellis pattern. This was designed in Sweden in the 1950s by Eva Bladh, and is a very difficult to find and much coveted pattern. We have never found any items from this line, except in antique stores.

The pattern features lovely line drawings of yellow, pink and orange flowers with green and blue leaves. Marked on bottom with the Upsala Ekeby UE Sweden stamp and "Karlskrona".

The cups appear to be in great shape. One cup has a handle that looks like it wasn't completely glazed during manufacturing near the base edge, so there is a slight separation from the wall of the cup. It appears solid, but we are just mentioning it anyhow. The rims on all these cups has a bit of variation or roughness because they are intentionally unglazed on the top. There are a few tiny areas within the pattern that have some manufacturing flaws, but overall it still looks vibrant and shiny.

Cups measure about 3 3/8" in diameter across top, and about 2 7/8" tall.
