Zanesville Small Planter
Tagged with: ceramicsplanterstoneage modernzanesville

Great little rustic planter or dish attributed to Zanesville in the “Stoneage Modern” line (also sometimes known as “Homespun“). Concentric rings around this tiny planter, with a olive green glaze on yellow clay.

These midcentury items were meant to have an extremely rough look to them – most of the pots have some sort of purposeful imperfections. The planter is in good condition, with some residue on the inside and a few manufacturing imperfections.

These pots are right up there with Gainey Ceramics and Architectural Pottery as far as midcentury modern collectors go, although they don’t receive the same sort of attention. Marked on bottom with “8004″.

Planter measures about 4 1/4″ wide and 1 5/8″ tall.
