Great looking Inuit stone bird carving, signed as Asaina Adamee. Believed to be a soapstone carved piece, great looking form with incised eyes and face features, very heavy solid material. Marked on bottom with "Asaina Adamee". It is curious - have seen other Inuit stone pieces that have a name as "Adamie", but this one is clearly marked "Adamee". Not sure if it is just a anglicized treatment of last name or not, but have seen it both ways.
In good vintage condition, with no cracks. There is a bit of roughness to the foot area but likely from manufacturing.
Measures about 4 1/8" tall, 5" long, 2 1/8" wide
