A stunning Bitossi Italian stoneware round jar or canister with lid. The top of lid has fused crackle glass in a mosaic pattern of triangles in red, orange and yellow colors. Main body of container is a mustard yellow glaze. Unknown line but have seen that these pieces with fritte glass are quite desirable, likely produced in the 1960s or so. Stamped into the bottom clay with Italy and written numbers 1098A.
In good vintage condition, with no cracks or major damage. There are some condition issues including 2 glaze flake chips to the top rim of lid, about 10 smaller fleabites to the bottom rim of lid and a 1 1/2" glaze chip to the top outer rim of base. Large pop to the base side.
Measures about 5 1/2" tall with the lid on, 6" wide.
