A wonderful larger 8" Bitossi Italian penguin figurine designed by Aldo Londi. This is the harder-to-find and larger 8" size, we have had the smaller one which was about 6" tall. The penguin has the iconic and desirable Rimini Blu glaze treatment, incised symbol decor with blue and green glaze. Have had these in a variety of different colors and glaze treatments. Marked on the bottom with what looks like 4727 Italy.

In good vintage condition, with no cracks or damage - the exception is a small flake to the beak, and 1 small flake to side. See the last 2 photos. Dust in the crevices. Bottom ring has slight roughness, maybe 1 flake. Crazing throughout, and as these are hand finished pieces there are the usual pops and manufacturing abnormalities in the glaze and finish.
