Bitossi Seta Planter

Fantastic Bitossi Italy "Seta" planter designed by Aldo Londi around 1957-65. This piece has a multitude of hand carved vertical and horizontal lines on the surface along with blue, green and white glaze bands, and gold leaf designs. Interior is glazed plain blue. Very popular line with aficionados of Italian and mid century pottery. We've had this line in various glaze colorways and different shapes - usually vases, candle holders, compotes, covered jars and planters. Marked on the bottom with what looks like "Italy 11/41D".

In good vintage condition, with no cracks or chips. There are a few tiny flakes off the side in the glaze, extremely common with the Seta line - see the last photo for one example. Some glaze splatters, misses, general overall roughness - remember these are hand finished pieces. Some hard water to interior from use.

Measures 4 inches tall, 5 inches wide at top.
