Blenko 5717 Floor Vase

A monumental, rare Blenko Glass tall architectural cylindrical pipe vase, designed by Wayne Husted in 1957. This is a showstopper of a piece, almost 2 feet tall - would look great paired with other midcentury glass or could stand alone as a focal point. The color is a beautiful sea blue-green. Have searched through all the colors, but am not an expert on them - it could be Juniper but the others that looked similar include: Nile, Peacock and Aqua. I'm uncertain how many years this vase was produced, but believe this one should be 1950s-60s. In any case, if it is Juniper, Nile or Aqua it would've been made for only 1957 or 1959. If Peacock, then 1965-1966. So, am guessing this could be a fairly rare piece. It is pictured in a few of the catalogs, and in Leslie Pina's Blenko book on page 39 and 84. No marks, pontil on bottom.

We may choose to use USPS, UPS or Fed Ex for shipping this piece, but likely will be USPS Priority. Signature confirmation will be required for this vase. Box size will also need to be rather large, may take us a few days to find a suitable box. We may also allow local pickup for this item due to the size.

In good vintage condition with no cracks or chips. Some minor wear, such as scuffs, scratches, pinhead dings - see the last two photos for examples, but overall the vase is in very good shape. Some inclusions and bubbles here and there, see the last photo for an example. Some dirt and small amount of water deposits. Pontil on bottom is a bit sharp in some areas.

Measures about 23 1/2 inches tall, 6 1/2 inches wide at top, 8 inches wide at base.
