Haldeman Caliente Green Bowl

A beautiful, wavy light green Haldeman Caliente bowl. These California pottery pieces date to the 1940s-50s. Wonderful freeform shape is typical of Caliente pieces, the end overlapping piece is created by cutting the clay during manufacturing and pressing the ends back together. This shape is mentioned in the Wilbur Held booklet as a "long floater 14x7 inch" bowl with 4 bends and 1 overlap. Unusually thin walls on this bowl, almost eggshell like in feel. Marked on bottom with "226 Hand Made Calif".

In good vintage condition, no cracks or chips. Some light wear - a few light scratches, scuffs and nicks but overall in great shape.

Measures about 14 1/4" by 7 1/2" wide.
