A wonderful Heath Ceramics covered stoneware casserole in a speckled beige glaze with darker brown shading toward the top. This is from the well known California company originally started by Edith Heath that has produced ceramics for over 60 years. More information on the Potteries of California website.
The Heath company also has a website, and this particular casserole shape is still being made today. However, I don't believe that this color combination is still being made - we believe this casserole to be vintage, but it's difficult to accurately date Heath items. In any case, a new covered casserole like this sells for over 80 dollars.
Just as relevant in a modern setting today, this medium sized casserole would be perfect for serving a soup or stew at the table. Marked on the bottom with the famous Heath logo.
No noticeable damage, except a few scuffs to the bottom of the casserole.
Measures approximately 9 1/2 inches across and 4 1/2 inches tall when the lid is on.
