Fantastic John Loree studio pottery stoneware moon pot. A graduate of Alfred University, Loree taught ceramics at Eastern Michigan University starting in the 1960s. The vase is cylindrical, slightly pinched form with extremely small opening at top, brown and black dripped glaze - very much in the style of those by Toshiko Takaezu. Marked on bottom with Loree signature.
In good vintage condition, with no cracks or chips. Pops to glaze, a few light scratches.
Measures about 7 1/2" tall, 4 1/2" wide.
