Amazing blue crystalline vase by Jon Price. This innovative modern potter has been working with glazes using Willemite crystals since 1989. This mineral allows glazes to form extremely large crystals within the glaze. These crystalline glazes are extremely difficult to develop and fire, resulting in a very low success rate for finished pottery and a great variation in the look of the completed product. In good vintage condition, but with a large 5/8" flake off the foot - this is not very visible from the top or side. The lattice of crystals on the vase is not perfect, and we believe that this may be either intentional or an artifact of manufacturing. Originally, we had thought some of the crystals had come off, but the missing sections appear to be underglaze. Please see the photos.

Vase measures about 6.5" tall and 2.25" wide at the base.
