Fantastic, Upsala Ekeby ceramic bowl produced by renowned Swedish glass designer Vicke Lindstrand. He worked at Orrefors, Kosta Glasbruk and Upsala Ekeby - he was creative leader at the latter company from 1943 to 1950. We haven't seen his ceramics as much, as he was more well known for his glass output. Bowl is handmade with raised lines radiating from center. Slightly translucent white glaze on top of a shiny black glaze. Marked on bottom with "UE VL 3018".

In good vintage condition, with some small fleabites to glaze, mostly near the rim area. The darker areas like those shown in the 3rd photo, however, are not chips but glaze imperfections. Light scratches and wear to the back, as well as some light crazing.

Measures about 7 1/2" across and 2" tall.
