A fantastic large studio pottery hanging planter from master potters Otto and Vivika Heino from Ojai, CA. Rough unglazed stoneware construction with finger ridges on sides, streaked and dripped with white glaze. Three holes at top for attaching ropes. The Heinos were extremely well-respected and influential potters, known throughout the world for their ceramic glazes and utilitarian but elegant pot designs. Would look great hanging in a patio or displayed with California modern pottery. Stamped on the side bottom with their V & O mark.
In good vintage condition with no cracks or chips. Some light usage wear. Because this is a hand made studio piece, there are irregularities like pops, firing holes, and divots in the clay here and there. We do have the ropes and small stoneware piece that were used to hang it up and will include them, however they should definitely be replaced before using.
Measures about 11 1/4" wide, 6" tall.
